Nowhere in Scripture does it say that a person can be “possessed” by a demon. Sadly, the Greek word, daimonizomai, has been mis-translated “possessed” when the better translation is “oppressed”. In Psalm 24 we read that the whole earth and EVERYTHING on it belongs to the LORD. This means that we belong to the LORD, we are HIS possession. What can happen is Christians can be oppressed by demons. This happens through 'open doors' that the kingdom of darkness capitalises on.
